The Skilled High Earners regime explained
Regime Overview
The Skilled High Earners Regime (“SHE” Regime) permits individuals to live and work in Jersey, subject to the following conditions:
a minimum annual income of £250,000 (earned and taxable in Jersey) on which a 20% tax rate is applied. This is equivalent to paying a minimum of £50,000.00 per annum in tax; and
establishing an active business presence, generating sustained economic and social value.
Successful applicants under the SHE regime will obtain residential and employment rights, subject to certain conditions.
Application Considerations
Applications are considered by the Government of Jersey and are also assessed on the following factors:
applicants are required to work full-time (generally considered a minimum of 25 hours per week) and to generate income from that employment;
applicants are required to provide economic and/or social benefit to Jersey e.g. mentoring, investment or charitable involvement; and
any perceived undesirable factors in an applicant’s background, such as a criminal record.
Successful Applications
Once an applicant is successful, they are required to lease or rent a property valued in excess of £2,000,000.
Residence and property rights are contingent on continued compliance with income and activity conditions for a period of 10 years. .
Once the applicant has been resident for 10 years, they will automatically become entitled to full residence and property rights in Jersey without restriction.
